Speedometer/Rev Counter from SIP PERFORMANCE: a multifunction instrument featuring an analog gauge, digital Display, and many additional functions.
The SIP Speedometer/Rev Counter from SIP PERFORMANCE replaces the standard speedometer—which is rather sparsely equipped—with a true multifunction unit. The instrument features a large analog display for speeds up to 160 km/h or RPMs up to 16,000. Depending on the setting, the speedometer needle indicates either speed or RPM.
The lower digital Display can show up to 18 functions, which can be switched at the touch of a button. In addition to standard functions such as analog and digital speed display, daily and total mileage, and temperature, the speedometer offers an analog and digital Rev Counter, digital fuel and Temperature Gauge, an Acceleration Meter for distance and speed measurement, average speed, and many other features.
The backlight can be selected from eight colors, and the brightness can be adjusted separately. Before each restart, the instrument performs a complete self-test.
Speed is detected, just like the original, via the Speedometer Cable or, alternatively, via a digital Speed Sensor. Compatible Sensors are available as Replacement Parts. A Wire Kit for the connection to the vehicle is included in the package and is connected between the Speedometer and the Wiring Loom—simple, straightforward, and without soldering.

Additional options for digital data capture
SIP Speed Sensor: Replaces the original Speedometer Cable and picks up the signal from the Speedometer Drive Gear. The included wire is waterproof and connected to the Sensor; it is simply pulled through the Steering Column and plugged into the Rev Counter. This ensures very accurate measurement and eliminates the risk of speedometer cable breakage.
SIP Oil Temperature Sensor: Is connected using the wire supplied with the Speedometer in place of the spark plug temperature sensor. The oil temperature sensor is screwed into the underside of the engine block and replaces the original engine oil drain plug.
For Vespa GT/GT L 125/200 cc/GTS 125: The Speedometer Cable from the newer GTS models must be installed. Alternatively, a digital speed sensor can be installed.
Note: Be sure to check the exact vehicle model before ordering. The connections differ between models. If in doubt, please follow the installation instructions.
Installation Instructions
Vespa GT/GT L 125/200 cc/GTS 125: The Speedometer Cable from the newer GTS models must be installed. Alternatively, a digital speed sensor can be installed.
Vespa GTS/GTS Super 125–300 cc, model years 2014–2016: The rear Cover Handlebar from the earlier GTS models must be installed. The switch panels for lights, Horn, etc., can be reused. Only the “Mode” button is omitted. An ABS indicator is also integrated into the SIP Speedometer/Rev Counter.
Vespa GTS 125–300 cc, from 2016, Euro 4: Due to the modified Cover Handlebar, the Speedometer cannot be installed on this Model.
Note: To install the speedometer on Vespa GTS models from model year 2014 onward, the rear Cover Handlebar from earlier GTS models must also be ordered.
Installation Note: For Vespa GTS/GTS Super 125–300cc models from 2014 onward, the rear Cover Handlebar from earlier GTS models must be installed (Part No. PI652682).
