If the Mudguard is broken, it no longer provides reliable protection against rainwater and may also pose a danger to the driver and those around them. A damaged mudguard should therefore be replaced as soon as possible.
However, removal and installation require some time and screwdriver experience, as the entire Steering Column has to be removed.
SIP TIP:
With the Steering Column removed, it is best to check and re-grease the Steering Head Bearing straight away. Screws, nuts and Mudguard Crests should also be replaced immediately.
