Another small bur decisive feature in the area of carburettor accessories are reed valve plates. In contrast to the standard plates which are made from steel or GFK, due to their high strength and resistance, tuning plates that are made from carbon or carbonite can achieve speeds of up to 10,000 revs/min.

Carbon plates enable a higher intake volume and offer minimal flutter behaviour. Carbonite plates are made from specially coated fibre glass. Their flutter behaviour is slightly heavier than the carbon plates but their coating means they are extremely break-resistant, open progressively and close again very quickly. As a rule, the following applies: Thin plates provide superior throttle responses at low revs, thick plates are suitable for higher revs and therefore higher top speeds. To get an optimum performance trying out different combinations is recommended, including different pairing compositions. In addition to the reed valve plates that are adjusted for the corresponding reed valve we also stock reed valve plates in differing thicknesses (0.3 - 0.45mm) from MALOSSI (carbon and carbonite) and POLINI (carbon). These can easily be cut into suitable plates for all reed valve systems.
