The functions of classic Vespa and Lambretta scooters - such as the clutch, gears or brakes - are operated via cables. Due to the frame design and the Engine positioned far to the rear, these cables are usually relatively long and should therefore always be carefully maintained and precisely adjusted.

Clutch and Brake Pads are subject to natural wear, and cables can settle or become slightly longer after installation. All these factors influence the Game of the Levers, which control the most important functions of the Engine and Brakes. Adjusting Screws are therefore fitted to the abutments of the Cable to precisely readjust the play.
Over the years, these adjusting screws can wear out: they break, corrode or their threads become deformed due to dirt or force. In such cases, a replacement is required.
