SIP PERFORMANCE Clutch for Vespa Smallframe – Engineered in Bavaria, based on the proven PK XL2 design, and available in Road or Sport versions.
The SIP PERFORMANCE clutch was developed for performance-oriented Vespa Smallframe engines. It is based on the proven design of the PK XL2 clutch, combined with a hardened steel cage and a Base Plate and front disc made of high-strength aluminum. The result is a robust, lightweight, and precise Clutch for sporty street, touring, and tuned engines.
- Road up to approx. 15 PS, Sport up to approx. 25 PS rear-wheel power
- Long disengagement travel with original height
- Hardened steel Clutch Basket; base plate and front plate made of high-strength aluminum
- 6 reinforced L-springs, optionally convertible to 8 springs
Long release travel with original installation height
A key focus during development was achieving the greatest possible release travel. As a result, the Clutch disengages reliably while also allowing the use of thicker Clutch Friction Plates (approx. 2.5 mm) and 1.5 mm-thick separation discs.
Despite the long disengagement travel, the overall height remains the same as that of an original small-frame clutch. As a result, it fits into original Clutch Baskets and does not require an additional Clutch Cover Spacer.
Road or Sport
The Road version is equipped with 3 clutch plates and 6 reinforced L-Springs. It is suitable for street and touring motorcycles with a rear-wheel power output of up to approximately 15 PS.
The Sport version has 4 clutch plates and also 6 reinforced L-Springs. It is designed for higher-performance setups up to approximately 25 PS at the rear wheel.
For higher loads, both versions can be upgraded to 8 Springs. The two additional Springs are not included in the package.
Installation and Compatibility
A standard small-frame Clutch Puller with an M26x1.0 thread can be used to remove the Clutch. The FABBRI combination tool, for example, is suitable for compressing the springs.
The original PK XL2 Pressure Plate, the SIP PERFORMANCE Pressure Plate, or other Pressure Plates of the same design can be used.
The Clutch works best in combination with a Clutch Cover based on the PK XL2 principle and a toothed Push Rod. However, it can also be used with standard Clutch Covers from PK and V50.
