Berni has gone to the trouble of selecting a Oil Seal from the huge range of standard parts available, which fits the Kickstart Shaft of the Wideframes and replaces the technologically old-fashioned felt ring with its unreliable sealing function.

Thanks to his love for the old treasures, Bernie also produces complete kits consisting of Kickstart segment, Bushes and Oil Seal. This means that, for the first time, all relevant components of the kickstarter mechanism can be repaired simply by replacing them, without having to use a lathe or other expensive workshop equipment.

The original Kickstart Lever Bushes in the Wideframe Casing are made of steel! Many repair Bushes are made of gunmetal or brass. Although these are proven plain bearing materials, they wear out more quickly at this point and are not original. Bernie only uses SIP Bushes in his Repair Kits, as these correspond to the original material.
