With PTFE cables, not the entire cable is made of PTFE. This refers to the plastic inner cover inside the steel wire spiral, which contains a PTFE component. This reduces the friction of the standard cable within the cover, allowing the cable to operate more smoothly.

PTFE cables are particularly well-suited for conversions to larger carburettors with Quick Action Twistgrip throttle levers. The Cover can also be routed more tightly without the cable immediately becoming stiff.

Cable assemblies with PTFE covers should not be greased, as grease can impair the sliding properties of the PTFE inner sleeve. Complete PTFE Cable Kits are also available for manual transmission models and are a practical solution, especially for new builds.

Note: The kit can also be used on the Vespa PX Lusso. In that case, the front Brake Cable for the PX Lusso is also required.
