The first question which comes to mind about the IO HAWK Legend: What exactly does “recuperation” mean? The battery recharges during regenerative braking, when going downhill and when coasting, which increases the battery life. This feature is a genuine innovation in the world of e-scooters, as it increases the range of the IO HAWK Legend to approximately 70 km. And with its motor output of 500 watts, the IO HAWK Legend doesn’t just master gradients easily: in the Cross version, it is also great for off-road use.
That certainly isn’t everything that the IO HAWK Legend has to offer, though. The air-filled 10 inch tyres combined with the full front and rear suspension ensure perfect running on any terrain. Tree roots, potholes and curbs are no longer any obstacle. The IO HAWK Legend is optionally available with an indicator system from German premium manufacturer Kellermann, which IO HAWK calls “the brightest legal indicators in Europe!”. A brake light is also fitted into the tail light for additional safety and visibility on the road. These positive attributes are further reinforced by a bell and a horn. And along with its two disc brakes, and the IO HAWK Legend is well equipped for busy city traffic. The scope of delivery includes an ignition lock, so that the first anti-theft device is guaranteed.
The IO HAWK Legend is quick and easy to fold up and store in the boot. The colour display on the handlebars has a USB port, so you can even charge your smart phone during your ride. It also displays the speed, the battery level and lots of other info.
Please note: Two different tyres are available for the IO HAWK Legend: Off-road (Cross) for off-road driving, and wide street tyres with even more grip and smooth handling. Of course, they are all approved for road use.
Conclusion: The IO HAWK Legend is a genuine powerhouse which cuts a fine figure, and is great fun both off-road and on the road.

To facilitate transport during initial delivery, the IO HAWK scooter is not fully assembled before being packed to reduce package volume. Occasionally components may require repositioning or reattachment following unpacking due to transit methods. This means a number of important checks and adjustments are necessary before initial use.
- Check and adjust both the front and rear brakes for correct operation.
- Check all attached components and their fixings, including the handlebars, number-plate holder and the complete lighting system.
- Check and adjust the set up of the suspension units to suit the riders individual requirements before use.
In addition, please note the following:
- The footboard surface is not fully glued to the deck below to allow service access.
- The front and rear brakes can be operated by either the left or right brake levers, as desired. If you wish to switch which handlebar lever operates which brake this option is fully acceptable.
- Disc brakes have to run in
- If an E10 error appears in the display, the controller must be replaced.
- If there is an E7 error or problems with the km display, the display must be replaced.
