Product description
SIP STYLE handlebar-end indicators for classic Vespas.
Visually appealing reproduction of the handlebar-end turn signals. Every classic scooter built in 1961 or later with an engine displacement of more than 125 cc must be equipped with indicators. When upgrading the engine, it is therefore essential to also address the indicators. These handlebar-end indicators from SIP STYLE offer the simplest retrofit option
- Available in yellow, black, and clear
- Look just like the original
- With E-mark certification
The indicators and their lenses have E8 approval and can therefore be used legally on public roads. They are designed for a bright 12 V/21 W halogen bulb and meet current requirements. Please note that bulbs are not included in the set. The Indicator Lenses are also compatible with the older versions of HELLA handlebar-end turn signals.
The SIP handlebar-end turn signal bush is included in the package. This is needed when converting models without an internal turn signal tube (Sprint/Rally/V50/PV/ET3/PX/T5) to handlebar-end turn signals. Simply mount it between the Throttle Tube and the handlebar-end turn signals; it ensures a secure hold and saves you from having to use questionable methods like gaffer tape. Vespas that come standard with handlebar-end turn signals have internal handlebar tubes. These tubes do not rotate and have the correct diameter for mounting the indicators at the handlebar ends. These models also feature special rubber grips that are open at the ends. To install or remove the indicators, you can fold down the end of these Grips—similar to turning a sock inside out—which allows you to access the indicator’s mounting screw.
The handlebar cable’s connection wire runs inside the indicator. A spring is placed over it, then the hexagonal clamp with a clamping screw is attached to the wire and finally screwed in place. Inserting the Festoon Bulb preloads the spring, establishing an electrical connection. Grounding is achieved via a wire bracket inside the handlebar tube.
Conclusion: New technology in an old design.

Sockets – Small but Important Differences
Even though light bulbs with BA9s, BAY9s, and BAW9s bases look nearly identical at first glance, they differ significantly in the arrangement of their pins:
The BA9s has two pins at the same height that are positioned exactly opposite each other—roughly at the 12 and 6 o’clock positions.
On the BAY9s, the two pins are also at the same height but offset from each other—roughly at the 12 and 8 o’clock positions.
The BAW9s differs further in that the pins are both offset and arranged at different heights.
Therefore, be sure to check the base of your existing light source before ordering.
