The design of the FABBRI Clutch for Vespa smallframe models is based on the XL2 clutch design. Depending on the version, steel or aluminum friction discs are inserted. Even the FB24 standard version is supplied with 10 Springs (5 inner and 5 outer springs). For higher engine outputs, the FB36 and FB45 versions are equipped with 16 Springs (8 inner and 8 outer springs). Depending on the version, cork or carbon is used as the carrier material for the clutch disks.
A special Thrust bearing with integrated guide plate improves the oil supply. The lighter, reinforced inner basket increases strength and reduces the rotating masses. As with the inner basket, FABBRI RACING relies on the high-strength ERGAL aluminum alloy for all CNC-milled components.
The Clutch is available in three expansion stages:
- Standard (FB24): up to 24 hp, 10 Springs, steel friction plates, cork Clutch Friction Plates
- Sport (FB36): up to 36 hp, 16 Springs, aluminum friction plates, carbon Clutch Friction Plates
- Race (FB45): up to 45 hp, features as FB36, with the addition of CNC-milled ERGAL parts with a hard anodized finish
The ideal complement to the FABBRI clutches is the Clutch Basket including repair kit from the same company. It is also made of high-strength steel and is milled from solid material. Cut-outs on the outer plates reduce the weight and at the same time ensure high stability.
