The main issue with most tuned Vespa and Lambretta engines remains the level of decibels created before and during a normal urban cruise. An overly noisy scooter soon receives undesired attention from your local neighbourhood watchers and/or uniformed representatives of your nations lawmakers, not to mention the 99 problems when its time for the annual vehicle inspection!

Unsurprisingly, exhaust silencers play an important role in the containment of excessive noise emissions. The team at MMW decided to provide a silencer more worthy of the title and have developed and produced the RS2000, which is noticeably easier on the ears than other commonly available types. Alongside its stately dimensions - essential for effective damping – they are internally-equipped with a combination of two separate noise reduction systems. The first compartment consists of a chamber designed to contain the sound emissions and a second section with a more conventional perforated tube surrounded by silencer wool.

The RS2000 silencer unit is compatible with all exhaust types equipped with a flange-plate that has attachment holes that match the pattern of SIP, PM or S&S performance exhausts. At 1400gr. the RS2000 is a little heavier than most other aftermarket silencers and therefore requires an adequately dimensioned holding bracket.
