Crash Bars and bumpers are the ideal way to protect your Vespa from scratches and dents. Almost everyone has been there: You nudge a garage pillar while backing out of a parking spot, or a momentary lapse of attention causes you to tip over while moving at a snail’s pace—and suddenly, you’re in big trouble.
Such accidents almost never result in personal injury. But anyone who’s ever had to take a scratched Side Panel in for repainting in the original color knows exactly what we’re talking about. With the right Crash Bar, you can save yourself a lot of hassle and money.
Crash Bars can be installed in just a few simple steps and can also be quickly removed when not in use. Since they’re usually clamped onto the Frame, it’s a good idea to protect the Paint with some Adhesive Tape beforehand. This prevents unsightly paint scratches during installation.
Side Panel Crash Bars are attached to the Centre Stand screws and the license plate mounting holes. Double-tube bars counteract the twisting forces during a fall and provide optimal protection for the bodywork. Single-tube bars, on the other hand, have a slightly more delicate appearance and emphasize the Vespa’s lines. Some models offer additional Foot Pegs for the passenger.
Florida-style or Lite bars offer the original 1950s/1960s look. For a consistent appearance, all Crash Bars should be combined from the same manufacturer whenever possible.
