Standard crankshaft in OEM quality—ideal for engine overhauls and subtle tuning on Vespa Smallframe models.
The crankshaft is the heart of the engine and is subjected to constant, heavy stress. In engines with high mileage or increased power output, bearing and oil seal seats are often worn, or connecting rod bearings may be worn out. As part of a major engine service, it is therefore recommended to replace the crankshaft.
Our product range consists exclusively of high-quality standard Crankshafts from MAZZUCCHELLI and TAMENI (Made in Italy, Milan area) as well as from JASIL (also known as TOP RACING). The appearance, quality, and valve timing of all these manufacturers’ products correspond to the PIAGGIO original. TAMENI crankshafts also stand out for their excellent press fit. Certain models—such as ETS and PK automatic crankshafts—are genuine PIAGGIO crankshafts. All crankshafts are supplied with the upper connecting rod bearing included.
- OEM-grade valve timing and workmanship (equivalent to genuine PIAGGIO)
- High-quality manufacturers: MAZZUCCHELLI, TAMENI, JASIL/TOP RACING
- Highlight: ETS shaft with a standard intake timing of 126° and reinforced LIMA seat
ETS shaft as a highlight
The ETS shaft stands out in particular: It comes standard with an intake timing of 126° and a significantly reinforced, thicker seat on the alternator side, near the bearing and crankshaft seal. An adapter bearing/Oil Seal is required for use in V50/PK/PV/ET3 crankcases.
Differences from the Racing Crankshaft
For sportier setups, a Racing Crankshaft is recommended: longer intake angles, often polished knife-type connecting rods, and a higher-quality silver bearing. For engine overhauls and moderate tuning, however, a high-quality standard crankshaft is generally sufficient.
Conclusion: Solid, high-quality crankshafts in OEM quality—perfect for engine overhauls and sufficient for moderate tuning.
SIP TIPS: Purchase Recommendation
- Plan to replace bearings, Oil Seals, and half-moon wedges
- Also replace the Gasket Set as well as the Clutch and Pole Wheel nuts
- Recommended tools: 27338000, 21071000, 18119000
