REINVENTED MOUNTING SYSTEM

The traditional bolt-based head and cylinder mounting system has been replaced by a new system of special bolts very similar to those used on high-performance engines. The fastening of the cylinder to the crankcase (Racing type) with these bolts and a special Allen key results in a reduction of the thermal expansion of the cylinder, which leads to a more efficient fastening and, on the other hand, allows the ingenious redesign of the exhaust port that makes this product so special and unique.

A REVOLUTION IN CONNECTIONS

The vast experience of Athena's technicians in the 2T sector has enabled them to challenge the traditional design in this cylinder. The intake and exhaust ports have been completely redesigned: by analysing the engine's thermofluid dynamics, the overall performance in terms of power and torque has been greatly improved. The intake port has been reinvented by adding a CNC-milled fifth port to ensure a higher gas flow into the combustion chamber.

NEW RACING PISTON

The flat top piston was designed with special attention to the interaction with the intake port. The CNC-machined port on the piston skirt is designed to maximise intake flow to allow higher pressure on the pump housing and better lubrication of the needle bearing.
