Flywheel Cover for Vespa - protective component for the Flywheel, rider's leg and reliable engine cooling.
The Flywheel Cover shields the rotating Flywheel and prevents it from being damaged itself or affecting other components and body parts - such as the rider's leg. At the same time, the German TÜV considers it an essential component of a safe scooter.
Covers are used to guide and remove the waste heat generated by the Engine or Cylinder from the cooling air flowing past. If the Flywheel Cover is missing, the Engine can be thermally overloaded - in extreme cases, there is a risk of piston jamming or seizure. Suitable versions are available for all common small-, wide- and large-frame models.
Conclusion: A must for the TÜV and visually appealing. Belongs on every scooter!
Remark:
There is also a large selection of Flywheel Covers for Wideframe and older Largeframe models. Depending on the model, they are black, silver or made of polished stainless steel.
While the first Wideframe models (V1-15 and V30-33) have a Side Panels with a cut-out and a Flywheel Cover with Airing Fins visible from the outside, the VM/VN models have a closed Side Panels with Airing Fins. The Flywheel Cover underneath has a round cut-out in the middle.
Covers for Vespa 125 VN2T/ACMA/150 VB1T/VL1-3T/T1-3/VGL1T/GS are manufactured in a typical Y-cut look. Largeframe models from the 1960s, on the other hand, usually have a large round center cut-out with the typical single strut at the bottom.
There are also numerous Flywheel Covers for more recent largeframe models (PX/T5/COSA), e.g. in chrome, black, transparent, polished stainless steel or carbon look.
