Social commitment
This applies not only to each individual, but also to us as a company. Since 2005, we have therefore been committed to social causes under the motto "SIP Aid: Scooter riders help!" and donate to charitable organisations such as SOS Children's Villages or Arche Deutschland for every online order we receive. We provide further information on the scope and partners of the SIP Aid project in a transparent manner. More about the SIP Aid project.
Environmental responsibility
The careful use of natural resources is an important goal for us. We know that resources should not only be utilised, but also protected, and we pursue this in various areas of our company through specific measures, including building technology, logistics, packaging and energy supply.
Energy-saving logistics and administration building
When constructing our new logistics and administration building in 2016, we significantly undercut the strict, applicable EnEV regulations. A groundwater heat pump utilises energy from the ground, underfloor heating in all areas requires low energy consumption and all glazing and windows in the building are triple-glazed. All the lighting is state-of-the-art LED technology that automatically adjusts to daylight and is dimmed. We have dispensed with the installation of energy-intensive ventilation or air conditioning, as well as building materials that have to be delivered from far away. Local companies constructed the building using regionally available materials such as steel and concrete.
In-house power generation - PV system
Since April 2023, we have been generating electricity from solar power with our 185kW peak photovoltaic system with the most modern modules available. On sunny days, we generate up to 1.5 MWh / day and can achieve a self-sufficiency rate of up to 91%. 150 tonnes of CO2 have been avoided so far (May 2026). Charging points for cars powered by electricity from renewable energy sources are available for employees.
Electricity from 100% hydropower
Nuclear power has lost its clean image, and not just since Fukushima. Electricity from fossil fuels pollutes our atmosphere with immense CO₂ emissions. We have switched the electricity requirements of our company building in Landsberg that cannot be covered by our own PV system to green electricity from 100% hydropower. Our regional energy provider, Lechwerke, has this electricity certified by TÜV Süd.sustainability in many areas
We implement various measures in the dispatch and administration areas to reduce the use of materials: The cardboard boxes and filling material for the parcels here have therefore long been made of recycled paper instead of bubble wrap, while plastics continue to be used in areas where no suitable paper-based alternatives are available to protect the goods and for weight reasons (e.g. overseas air freight).
We only use shipping envelopes made from recycled paper instead of plastic, as well as our invoice paper. In your customer account at www.sip-scootershop.com, you can decide for yourself whether you need a printed paper invoice at all or whether the PDF version is sufficient. More and more administrative areas of the SIP Scootershop are already fully digitalised, with more to follow step by step.
Packaging
Our packaging consists mainly of paper and . which are recyclable. The aim is to limit packaging to the minimum necessary. We could have filled around 20 football pitches with the paper alone that we used to use every year for delivery notes, invoices and internal processes - not a nice thought if you think about sustainability on a daily basis like we do. By changing our internal processes, we have been able to significantly reduce paper consumption compared to previous years. What still needs to go in the box is packaged as plastic-free, recyclable and with a sense for the essentials as possible - so that not only the scooter is fun, but also the ecological footprint is smaller.
Bavarian environmental and climate pact
The Bavarian Environmental and Climate Pact is an agreement between the Bavarian state government and Bavarian industry. It is based on voluntariness, personal responsibility and co-operation.
The aim is to promote environmental protection measures through individual responsibility and co-operation. We fulfil the requirements with our implemented measures and participate in the Bavarian Environmental Pact.
