Founded about a century ago in Sakai, Japan, the company is widely known as "SHIMANO" and is recognised by anyone with even a passing interest in bicycles. SHIMANO has been the leading supplier of groupsets for years. It is therefore not surprising that the bicycle specialist has also shown an interest in e-bikes since 2010 and has introduced several drive systems under the name "STePS". There is currently no tuning available for the drives of the cargo bikes (DU-EP800-CRG and DU-EP6100-CRG), but working modules are available for all other models. However, it should be noted that not all Tuning Chips are compatible with the Di2 shifting system.
SHIMANO drives are divided into systems for e-bikes and e-mountain bikes.
