Overview CAGIVA
The Italian motorbike brand CAGIVA was founded in 1978 after the brothers Gianfranco and Claudio Castiglioni acquired the Aermacchi factory in Varese from Harley-Davidson. The company name CAGIVA is an acronym made up of the name of their father, Giovanni Castiglioni, and the company's location, Varese. At the beginning of 2023, 4820 CAGIVA motorbikes were registered for road use in Germany, representing a market share of 0.1 per cent.
CAGIVA model history
From the outset, CAGIVA concentrated on the motorbike business and only built a few scooters, including the CAGIVA City 50 and the CAGIVA Progress 50. The scooters were not very successful, while the Mito motorbike was particularly popular with young people.
