Tuning Introduction for 50 ccm Automatic Scooter by SIP Scootershop

With tuning, the trip to Corsica becomes a reality and doesn't just remain a lifelong dream. With a tuned engine, the pulse leaves sleep mode. Tuning is one of the last adventures of civilisation and the escape from our so regulated everyday life.

Our range includes parts for the normal everyday driver up to extreme parts for the competition driver. We have mainly limited ourselves to products from the companies MALOSSI and POLINI. These companies have the most experience in racing and this know-how also flows into the parts for street use. In areas where these companies do not offer a sufficient range, we have products from other well-known companies in our programme.

For exhausts you will find various systems from the manufacturers MALOSSI, POLINI, YASUNI, LEOVINCE, TECNIGAS, ROOST and SIP. From the standard exhaust to the racy race exhaust. You will also find the complete range for Scooter Cup riders and performance fetishists: MALOSSI MHR, POLINI EVOLUTION and OTTOPUNTOUNO.

All parts are of a high quality standard and have been and will be extensively tested by us and installed in our workshop. Attention: Unless otherwise stated, all items are without ABE or TÜV approval, so use in road traffic is not legal and requires consultation with the TÜV.

The four tuning levels

In order to get an overview of the individual tuning stages, we have compiled various steps which you should carry out in this order. Individual steps can be varied among themselves and are then marked. Important: It is advisable to change the carburettor jetting and variator weights after each step in order to optimally transfer the increased power to the road. This compilation is a mixture of recommendations from MALOSSI, POLINI and our SIP workshop.
You will find our recommended tuning level with each performance-enhancing item to make the selection of parts easier. This allows you to easily put together the engine of your choice. All tuning levels build on each other.

We distinguish between the following tuning levels in the tuning classes.

STANDARD Tuning 50 cc

Low-priced entry-level class. For anyone who only wants to install a few parts: Better trigger, slightly higher top speed, more power. There is no increase in displacement. The tuning is inconspicuous in the first stages and in the area of exhaust partly even permitted in road traffic. The noise level is kept within limits.

  • Complete dethrottling of the scooter by means of sports intake manifold, sports manifold, removal of the Vario stop rings, bypassing the throttled CDIs.

  • Sport variator, sport V-belt, diaphragm plates, sport air filter insert, variator rollers, clutch springs

  • Cylinder kit 50 ccm AIRSAL/BARIKIT/MALOSSI/POLINI/AIRSAL, diaphragm block
    alternatively or in combination racing exhaust LEOVINCE Touring/SP3/TECNIGAS/BIG ONE Basic

ROAD Tuning 68 ccm

Intended for the normal everyday rider who does not demand top performance, but wants to achieve more power on a durable basis with relatively little effort. Faster acceleration, a little more power on hills, higher top speed. Conclusion: Increased performance with high suitability for everyday use.

SPORT Tuning 68 cc

This is based on sport tuning, much of which is compatible. The target group is the performance-hungry everyday rider, as well as those who are thinking of taking part in
events. Strong acceleration, speeds beyond 100 km/h and yet high durability characterise this class. Some of the eye-catching exhaust systems have E-approval.

The royal class. For anyone who wants to emulate champions in racing and wants competitiveness at the highest level. Tuning experience and the necessary small change are absolutely necessary. The parts correspond to the various racing classifications. It is advisable to install the complete range, because the parts are matched to each other.
