Vesparicana - From Alaska to Tierra del Fuego on a Vespa
"Elsi's" last job as a postal vespa is a truly extraordinary one: with her 7.5 hp, she is to transport a bottle of Arctic water from the northernmost point of America to the southern tip of the continent. A daring adventure awaits the yellow vehicle and its courageous driver. Even the 6,000 kilometre journey from Vancouver to the starting point on the Arctic Ocean gives a foretaste of the journey ahead through encounters with moose and grizzlies. From there, the unusual duo chugs tirelessly southwards - through tundra, forests, deserts, steppes and pampas. Eight Pistons, two Cylinders, three Brake Drum and five sets of tyres are lost in the process. But they find support everywhere along the route: people from different cultures and over 20 Vespa clubs open their homes, workshops and hearts. After an incredible 71,000 kilometres and 22 months, the water from the north actually joins the south - a truly epic journey.
