Sun, beach, sea, mountains, pizza, vino - and all of this paired with Lambretta, Vespa, soul nighters and the smell of two-strokes. The comeback of the scooter meeting on Elba last year was organised under the motto "Back with a Bang". The bang reverberated and once again attracted scooter riders from all over Europe to the island off the coast of Tuscany. Those who attended in 2024 were keen to return.

This year, the site was already full on Thursday. The visitors were lucky: bright blue skies until sunset ensured a great atmosphere from the very first minute.

It was particularly noticeable that there were significantly more Germans and Austrians than in 2024, with guests from Hungary, Spain, Italy, France, the Netherlands, Belgium, Switzerland, Denmark, Ireland, England, etc. It was impressive how international the meeting was again in 2025.

In the evening, everyone headed to the legendary Mandel Club. The DJs delivered strong sets, the nighter and the dance floor were well filled.

The Mandel Beach Bar, right on the beach where the meeting takes place, also had a small dance floor during the day. Here, too, there were DJs on the turntables for three days in a row.

Saturday ride - scooters as far as the eye can see

It wasn't until the big ride on Saturday that it really became clear how many scooters were on site. The queue stretched endlessly along the streets of Elba. According to Gegio from Scooterismo, 850 scooters were registered, but he reckons there were at least twice that number on the island.
It was particularly striking: Around half of all the machines are classic Lambrettas - something you rarely see outside of England. There were few automatic scooters. Elba remains a paradise for classic riders.

Of course, there was also a small custom show. As everyone arrived on their own Axle, there were only the scooters that people actually ride - no trailer queens. Some real gems were awarded prizes. Also practical: a small workshop on site helped anyone who had had problems on the journey there.

Between Aperitivo and Nighter: the best time

The long evenings in the restaurant next door were a personal highlight. Although it was usually overcrowded, you could still find a seat, put together long tables and enjoy two or three hours of conversation between the daytime programme and the nighter at the Mandel Club. It is precisely for this togetherness, for the chance meeting of old and new friends, that I travel here.

The best thing about Elba: sitting on the beach on a Friday afternoon, scooters in the sand, and simply strolling from table to table - priceless. Plus the breathtaking scenery and the opportunity to squeeze in a short tour of the island at any time.

One thing is certain: the atmosphere was so good that I already know I'll be back next year. And many thanks to the organisers "Green Onions" and Scooterismo.
