Open Dyno: performance test for all scooters
Performance tests for all scooters up to 100 hp, on our calibrated Amerschläger P4 test stand.
Due to the calibration, our test bench is highly accurate and is officially recognized, for example, by the GTÜ as an external test laboratory. The measured values can be used for tuning or also for registration in the vehicle documents. The rear wheel power (absolute power) or the engine power according to DIN / EC (required for TÜV registration up to 1997 / from 1997) is measured.
Prerequisite for participation is a complete notepad with all components installed on the vehicle at SIP in the webshop. The test bench staff will check the notepad on site and store it together with the performance diagram. Diagram and notepad are anonymized, but may be published by SIP.
The five options on the SIP test bench
We offer you five different options to put your scooter through its paces on our test bench:
How much horsepower does your bike really have? Finally a real performance comparison with convincing arguments! You will receive the performance diagram as a colored printout and on request as a PDF by email. (one run 31 € incl. warm up)
Exhaust test from our rich exhaust archive
You don't want to buy a pig in a poke, but want to know the performance curve beforehand? We have box exhaust systems for many models and from different manufacturers on site to try. Before/after measurement (two runs) incl. warm-up á 60 €, each additional tried system 25 €.
The price for the performance test will be credited to you if you buy an exhaust from stock on the same day!
Performance test crankshaft (M standard)
For entry in the vehicle documents. Our diagrams have so far been recognized by all test organizations known to us on behalf of the KBA. Our test bench measures highly precise and is re-calibrated in regular intervals. Current calibration certificates are displayed in the test bench room. (Run incl. printout and PDF by mail á 69 €; collective appointment once a month).
Checking the carburetor setting with our lambda probe
We determine the exhaust gas values of your engine at different throttle strokes (full load / part load ...). The representation is done graphically as a curve of the lambda value (rich to lean) under the power curve. We interpret the curves together and give you tips for tuning the engine. (Initial measurement with power determination, min. three runs with lambda probe, printouts and PDFs as desired, initial measurement 125 €).
Free driving on the test bench
E.g. to adjust the ignition to optimize performance, to try out timing or other tests. Including diagrams as printout or PDF. (225 € per hour / availability by appointment only).

In the connected Siperia we organize an "Aperitivo" during this time. Depending on the Corona situation, there you will have the opportunity to meet other scooter riders and SIP staff. Fuel and shop talk about Vespas, Lambrettas and other vehicles are always welcome while enjoying drinks & finger food.
