New radial Brake Calliper for Classic and Modern Vespa
We have made a detailed video about the new radial Brake Calliper from SIP Performance with André - in it he goes into all the technical details, possible applications and special features of this extraordinary brake component. So if you want to know how the upgrade affects braking performance and what to look out for during installation, you should definitely take a look.
Technology for the highest demands
With the SIP Performance radial Brake Calliper, the latest design principles are finding their way into the Vespa world - whether PX, PK, Lusso, T5 or newer models such as Primavera or Sprint. Developed for maximum braking performance combined with perfect suitability for everyday use, this component sets new standards in several respects.
Mono-block design, four pistons and a harmonious hydraulic transmission ensure a precise, powerful braking feel. The Pliers is forged from a single piece and is therefore extremely torsion-resistant - according to internal tests, the expansion under load is ten times less than that of comparable products.
The four one-inch diameter Pistons distribute the braking force evenly over particularly large pads. This not only improves deceleration, but also temperature resistance - a clear advantage in situations with high thermal loads, such as the 24-hour race in Zuera, where the "Germany 111" team relies on the SIP Radial Brake Calliper 5644.
Road approval included
The radial Brake Calliper is supplied exclusively with valid part type approval (TTG), which corresponds to the former ABE. In combination with the Axle Seating, it is officially approved for all Vespa PX models with original Disc Brake - e.g. for the so-called PX 98 or Millennium.
For other Vespa models such as older PK and PX versions, as well as GTR, Sprint and Rally vintage bikes with a PK Conversion Steering Column, individual approval is much easier thanks to TTG. Approval is easiest if components with ECE labelling or ABE are installed in combination; if you want to be on the safe side, use original Piaggio components or tested alternatives such as our SIP Wheel Hub with parts certificate.
