With the VOLspeed V3 tuning module, it isn’t just possible for the speed limit of GIANT Syncdrive e-bikes and pedelecs to be raised; the VOLspeed V3 tuning module also offers further interesting functions.
Since 2018, the company VOLspeed from Ehekirchen in Bavaria has been one of the leading manufacturers of innovative tuning modules for e-bikes, pedelecs and S-pedelecs. With the VOLspeed V3 tuning module for e-bikes and pedelecs with GIANT Syncdrive motor, a further development is now available on the German market with possibilities for optimisation that are unique: All the settings, such as the speed limit, throttle control and wheel circumference can be made conveniently using the display. A PC or smart phone are no longer required. Moreover, in the “dynamic mode”, the motor output is no longer abruptly reduced at the maximum assistance, which considerably reduces the unwelcome “wall effect”.

The tuning module for e-bikes with GIANT Syncdrive motors
The VOLspeed tuning module is suitable for e-bikes with GIANT Syncdrive Sport, Pro, Life and Core motors from model year 2017 to 2021. It works with the displays EVO, EVO-SG, CHARGE and PLUS, as well as the control units ONE, ERGO-SG, ERGO2-SG.
Functions of the VOLspeed V3 tuning module

- When the e-bike or pedelec is initialised, the tuning is deactivated by default.
- The tuning can be activated and deactivated using the buttons on the handlebars.
- The wheel circumference is set on the display during set-up.
- The maximum motor assistance, or maximum throttle control speed, can be set to a value of between 25 and 99 km/h. The set value is saved.
- Selecting “Dynamic Mode” softens the “wall effect”. The motor assistance is also available at higher speed ranges.
- Correct display of the speed and kilometres travelled.
- Display of the average and maximum speed.
- Following the removal of the module, the total mileage is correctly maintained.
Installation, activation and control of the VOLspeed V3 tuning module
It is no problem to fit the VOLspeed tuning module to the GIANT Syncdrive motor. Its activation and control take place via the display, and its removal should be possible without leaving wear marks.
Installation
The following tools are required for installation in a Full E+ 0 Pro: Torx spanner TX20, TX25 and TX30, 6 mm Allen key, ISIS crank puller and a lockring tool for GIANT/YAMAHA PW-X. A chain whip is optionally required. The tools required may differ for other models. Expect a time expenditure of between 15 and 40 minutes. Activation & Control
The VOLspeed tuning module is ready for use immediately following installation and is configured via the display. Set the wheel circumference and the chosen top speed – and you’re done. The tuning can be controlled very easily via the display while driving and can also be activated and deactivated.
Please note: A display (e.g. PLUS or EVO-SG) or alternatively a speed display app is required for the initial tuning (setup) and for setting the individual maximum speed.
Removal
Thanks to the plug-in connections, the removal is generally as straightforward as the installation. There should be no visible damage to the e-bike or pedelec.
Conclusion: There is probably no better tuning module for the GIANT Syncdrive e-bikes and pedelecs at present.
