Holding Tool from SIP SPARE PARTS for locking the V-Belt Pulley onto the Crankshaft.
Whether you’re replacing the V-belt, installing the Sport-Vario, or swapping out worn Variator rollers, the fact is, the V-Belt Pulley has to come off. Since not everyone has an Impact Wrench—and since an Impact Wrench isn’t exactly gentle on the crankshaft stub—we recommend using the special SIP Variomatic Holding Tool.
- Required for securing and loosening the Vario nut
- Easy to use
- Handy for the workshop and on the go
The Holding Tool is needed to loosen and secure the Variomatik nut. To use it, place the tool’s two retaining tabs on the V-Belt Pulley and screw it to the Crankcase using the Bushes and Screws. Now the nut can be easily loosened or tightened using a ratchet or Torque Key.
This tool is a must-have in any workshop. But it’s also recommended to always carry the Holding Tool with you on rides. Anyone who’s ever tried to replace a broken Belt in the middle of nowhere without a Holding Tool knows just how important this little tool can be for the Variomatic system.
Conclusion: A useful helper, not just for casual mechanics, but also for workshops and touring riders.
These products are a perfect fit – SIP TIPS:
- To round out your collection of specialty tools, the BU5428Clutch Holding Tool is a must-have
- For proper installation of the Vario nut, we recommend adhering to the specified tightening torques. A suitable Torque Keyis requiredfor this
Installation Note: If you use the Holding Tool on an HPE engine, you’ll need to file it down slightly or use an angle grinder. You’ll need to slightly modify one corner of the holding arm; otherwise, the tool will hit the fan blades on the V-Belt Pulley.
