The popular removable Rubber Collar Gear Changer from the 50s reissued by SIP

The Vespas of the 40s and 50s have external cables and wires. The connections on the Handlebars are protected from the weather by Rubber Collars. Over time, they tear, become hard or fade and have to be replaced.
In the 1950s, there were Rubber Collars that were easy to replace without removing the cables and wires. We have reissued these.

It is a tedious job to change rubber sleeves on a wideframe like this. Cable or Wire have to be fitted for this. That's why in the 50s companies like "Mercury" and "Biemme" made Sleeves that were fixed by Rubber Pins. The new SIP Rubber Collar are perfect reproductions of these originals except for the logo. For installation, the sleeves only need to be placed around the cables/cables and closed with the pins. Installation is very simple.
The pins are also available individually in gray, red and blue.
We have the sleeves in different shades of gray and green. As a kit or individually for Gear Changer or Wire Light Switch.

Which color goes well with my scooter?

We’ve tried to avoid subjective terms like “light green” or “dark green” when describing shades of green and have instead assigned them to RAL Classic shades. RAL shades are used internationally; you can find them online or, better yet, compare them using a RAL Colour Chart. But even then, opinions differ on which shade of green best corresponds to which RAL color.

Here are our suggestions for how the shades of green can be used:

RAL 6021 Pale Green corresponds to the ACMA color on newly painted models.
We had RAL 7003 Moss Gray and RAL 6003 Olive Green specially manufactured for ACMA Patina models to accurately replicate old paint finishes and rubber color tones. They also pair well with Wideframes featuring green Cover Single Saddle covers.
RAL 6013 Reed Green looks more like faded ACMA Rubber.
RAL 1020 Olive Yellow appears to some as ochre or gray with a greenish-yellow tint. This color looks very nice on Patina scooters.
