Product description
Carbon Reed Valve Petals from POLINI are a small but decisive upgrade in carburetor accessories: high strength, high speed stability and noticeably better response.
Reed Valve Petals appear inconspicuous, but have a significant influence on engine behavior. While standard plates are often made of steel or GRP, carbon tuning plates can withstand speeds above 10,000 rpm thanks to their high strength and resistance. Carbon plates also improve responsiveness and acceleration, especially in the lower speed range. Another advantage over steel: Carbon is more resistant to tearing, which reduces the risk of cracked dies leading to major engine damage (e.g. to the Cylinder or Crankshaft).
- RPM-resistant and resilient: carbon for high speeds and stable operation
- Better response: noticeably livelier engine running, especially at low revs
- More acceleration: especially in the lower rev range
- More tear-resistant than steel: minimized risk of consequential damage due to plate breakage
The rule of thumb is: Thinner dies support acceleration, thicker dies promote a higher top speed. It makes sense to test different thicknesses and combinations - even with different pair compositions - depending on the setup and objective.
MALOSSI and POLINI also offer carbon plates from which Reed Valve Petals can be cut to size.
Conclusion: Useful tuning detail for every expansion stage - more speed stability, better response and less risk.
