Head spacer plates are designed for Long Stroke Crankshafts and create the necessary clearance to prevent the Piston from hitting the Cylinder Head.

These head gaskets or head spacer plates have been specially developed for use with Long Stroke Crankshafts. With a long-stroke setup, the Cylinder must be extended by half the stroke increase using Distance Plate(s) so that the piston crown does not collide with the Cylinder Head during operation (e.g. 1 mm Distance Plate when converting to 54 mm stroke).

The spacer changes the timing accordingly. In contrast to base spacer plates, the exhaust timing increases comparatively little. This is precisely why head distance plates are a good choice when the focus is on a high-torque engine design with characteristics suitable for everyday use.
