PZRACING Start Basic and Start Next Lap Timers – GPS chronometers with a 50-Hz receiver, touchscreen, and precise lap time tracking.
The Start Basic and Start Next from PZRACING are currently the only chronometers that use a GPS receiver with a 50-Hz sampling rate. This allows lap times to be recorded with an accuracy of up to one-hundredth of a second and GPS trajectories to be visualized with exceptional precision.
The lap timers feature a touchscreen display with “Glove Sensitive” technology, allowing the device to be operated even while wearing gloves. The icon-based menu makes navigation simple and intuitive.
The recorded data is stored on an SD card. This eliminates the need for lengthy data downloads and significantly reduces the likelihood of the device’s internal memory becoming full. Thanks to automatic recognition and a global course database, the chronometer automatically identifies the course without the need to press a button.
Start Basic is the entry-level version without data logging. Lap times are displayed directly on the Display. Start Next additionally records the GPS track, speed, direction, and acceleration. This allows performance to be analyzed later on a PC. Both models support connection to the Box Expander module.
50-Hz GPS Receiver
Start Basic and Start Next use a 50-Hz GPS receiver. The position is recorded 50 times per second. This allows lap times and driving lines to be recorded with very high accuracy.
Touchscreen with Glove Support
The touchscreen with “Glove Sensitive” technology allows for operation even while wearing gloves. The icon-based menu makes the device easy and intuitive to use.
Split Times and Data Logging
Start can manage and record up to three split times. Start Next also allows for the recording of driving lines and speed data via GPS. With the optional expansion module, up to 9 analog and 3 digital channels can be connected.
Data Analysis on a PC
RacePro is the analysis software for Start Next. It allows you to evaluate racing lines and performance in every single turn. Analog and digital channels connected to the lap timer can also be analyzed.
Internal Battery and Display
Start features an internal, rechargeable lithium Battery. This makes the device particularly suitable for vehicles without their own Battery, such as supermotos, karts, scooters, etc.
All stopwatches feature a backlit Display that can be used in low-visibility conditions. The backlight can be turned on and off via the menu.
RaceRender Function
The RaceRender program can be used to create videos with data overlays. The necessary data is downloaded from the Start Laptimer.
Comparing Start Basic and Start Next
Start Basic allows you to record lap times, split times, and the maximum speed for each lap. All data is visible directly on the Display but cannot be downloaded to a PC.
Start Next also features data logging. All recorded values can be downloaded and analyzed on a PC using the RacePro software, including racing lines, speed, and all analog channels connected to the expansion module.
