It doesn't always have to be a new Cylinder ..
If a Cylinder has a few thousand kilometers behind it, the Piston Rings or even the Piston should be replaced to ensure reasonable compression. We stock the most important spare and wear parts for all common tuning and original cylinders: Pistons, Gasket Sets and Piston Rings.
Piston Rings form the link between the Piston and the cylinder bore. They are subject to heavy wear and tear and should be replaced regularly. Loss of compression, diminishing performance and poor starting behavior are clear indications of worn Piston Rings.
Piston Rings set/sets = complete set, 2 Piston Rings
Piston Rings = single Piston Ring, 1 piece
Standard dimension = original dimension
1.OD / 2nd OD = 1st oversize, 2nd oversize etc.
Ø = cylinder diameter
L-Piston Rings = Piston Ring with L-shaped cross-section, also called Dykes-Ring
SIP TIP:
- Fit Piston Rings carefully and do not overstretch, as there is a risk of breakage. Note the piston ring joint clearance, type and design; trapezoidal rings only have one installation direction!
