Product description

Guide Bushing from SIP SPARE PARTS for repairing worn-out shift shaft guides in the Vespa Smallframe crankcase.

Unfortunately, the Gearshift Lever Shaft in the Crankcase of Vespa Smallframe models is prone to wear and tear. This can be due to constant stress over the years or, more often, result from gearshift cables that are tensioned too tightly. The consequences are leaks and oil loss from the Crankcase. This also makes gear changes jerky and imprecise.

With the help of the Guide Bushing from SIP SPARE PARTS, such a crankcase can be salvaged. To do this, the hole in the crankcase must be reamed to match the outer diameter of the Bush. To press the bush into place, the hole in the crankcase should be 1 to 2/100 mm larger than the bush. This is best achieved using a reamer.

In addition, a shoulder should be countersunk to accommodate the bushing’s flange, ensuring the bushing sits flush with the crankcase. It is also recommended to glue the bushing in place.
