Custom Creations: NSU Prima

Created by Dietrich Limper at 14:13 on November 19, 2025

At the SIP Open Day 2025 jesco presented in the series Custom Creations series, Jesco presented a scooter that stands out even in the extravagant scene. Munich-based Screws Kris brought along a vehicle that has never been seen before - a mixture of NSU history, uncompromising sprint concept and completely unique design.

A scooter that does everything differently

Jesco already knew Kris before this project even took shape. One day, Kris showed him an initial computer graphic of his dream sprinter - a rendering that impressed him, but also raised doubts. There were just nine months between the digital vision and a working Sprintroller.
And yet: Kris rolled the finished vehicle off the trailer at Spa-Francorchamps. Not a makeshift, not a "work in progress" construction site - but a fully-fledged, radically realised Sprintroller.

From a German NSU classic to a one-off

The basis is an NSU Prima built in 1959, not a licence model from the Italians, but a purely German NSU design with 150 cc and three gears. However, only the front part of the frame remains from this scooter - everything else has been rebuilt, replaced or manufactured from scratch.

Kris describes the bodywork like this:

  • Fork: a Spanish Lambretta fork, shortened by 8 cm, now only 2 cm travel, plus a home-made travel adjuster.

  • Frame: completely rewelded and extended by 20 cm so that the Engine sits further back - result: a massively extended wheelbase.

  • Engine: Casa Performance SSR 265 (air-cooled), equipped with a prototype Cylinder from Micky and his team. The layout corresponds to the water-cooled model - but air-cooled. Power: approx. 56 hp.

A sprint scooter with this power, this wheelbase and this individuality is quite something anyway. But what makes it really special is the overall look - futuristic, powerful, unique. A custom scooter that clearly answers the most important question: "Does it look cool?" And how!

Kris has created a scooter in record time that combines design vision, technical radicalism and sprint performance - a real highlight of the SIP Open Day 2026. A scooter that shows what is possible when you combine talent, courage and determination.
