SIP Aid - Scooterists help

Why are some people dwelling in poverty while we are so well off?

Famine, homelessness or floods while we have everything that we need. We, the staff at SIP Scootershop, got a job that we really like, we got enough leisure time to work on our scooters and there is even enough money left over for a pizza and a beer all the time. We were all deeply affected by pictures of the tsunami in Asia at the beginning of 2005 so we spontaneously decided to donate some money. This was the moment when the idea of „SIP-Aid“ was born.

What is it all about? We are willing to donate a part of our earnings to charitable organizations and invite you to participate. We donate on a regular basis a considerable amount to the SOS Childrensvillage, Arche or the Red Cross, just to name a few. Further down on this page we are publishing some of the donations we make.

Why the SOS Kinderdorf / SOS-Childrensvillages?

As the name SOS Kinderdorf suggests: here girls and boys who can not grow up in their own parents’ house find a new home. Children live there with their Kinderdorf mother and siblings in a house – permanently and round the clock. There is play, laughter, argument and celebration just like in an average family. This is of special importance to the children who often arrive at a SOS Kinderdorf with painful experiences. Here they again find people with whom to build long-term and trusting relationships and who offer reliability and security.

Why Arche?

L’Arche operates in many countries all around the world with a shared aim: To build communities that are willing to include people with an intellectual disability. People with and without disabilities share their daily lives in one house. Every member of the household community has their own room. They cook together and share their meals. Housekeeping is teamwork, too. In Landsberg an Arche house was opened in 2001. Currently 12 people are living there. For more info please visit:

HUMEDICA is an international non-governmental organization that has provided humanitarian aid in over 90 countries since its foundation in 1979. The aim of humedica's work is to help people who have fallen into need as a result of disasters or structural poverty, worldwide.

Why Mary's Meals?
Mary's Meals provides hundreds of thousands of the world's poorest children with a warm meal every school day. Food and education enable the children to escape the spiral of misery and poverty. Founded in 1992, the charity has the vision that every child should receive one meal a day at school. Currently, Mary's Meals feeds about 1.3 million children in Africa.

SIP AID Donations from 2002 till today

January 2020: SIP Scootershop donates 3.000 € to ARCHE

As in the past 10 years, employees of SIP Scootershop GmbH visited the Arche community on Wednesday, 22.01.2020 and handed over a donation of 3.000 €.

The Landsberg Arche is a community in which people with and without mental handicaps live together at eye level on a Christian-ecumenical basis. "Since we want to enable even more people with and without mental handicaps to live together in an inclusive, meaningful way in mutual relationships, we are planning to build a new house in Landsberg and to add 10 more residents to our current 10 residents in inpatient and outpatient living. The donation from SIP Scootershop comes in handy here, because we can't do this on our own. What is special about SIP Scootershop's donation is that their employees visit us again and again, they do not only hand over the check, but also ask questions with a real interest, let us show them around the house and talk to our roommates over coffee and cookies. We are also invited to the SIP Scootershop headquarters and odd small donations reaches us in between. We would like to thank you from the bottom of our hearts for the friendship and financial support for inclusion and the common good that has lasted for a decade now and we are already looking forward to our next reunion!

March 2020: SIP supports Cameroon Aid

At the end of 2014 we supported the Landsberg doctor Dr. Gatz for the first time in his hospital project in Cameroon. And with what we can do quite well: logistics. This time we helped with the shipment of discarded hospital beds and a used ultrasound machine.

In mid-March, the purchasing department of SIP Scootershop GmbH contacted Chinese business partners to organize medical respiratory masks in view of the shortage that still prevails today. After some detours at the customs office, these have now arrived and SIP Scootershop donated FFP2 respirators to the disaster control department of the Landsberg district office, which is responsible for the central coordination of distribution as needed.

November 2017: SIP Scootershop donates 4,000 € to the SOS Children's Village

Now the dozen is full. For the twelfth time in a row, the Landsberg-based scooter specialist SIP Scootershop presented the SOS Children's Village Lech-Ammersee with an impressive 4,000 euros. The mail order shop, founded in 1994, still donates one euro from every online order for the boys and girls who are looked after in Dießen. According to SOS area manager Angelica Benz (2nd from left), this year's donation will be used for therapeutic riding, which helps the often severely traumatised children enormously, but is not financed by many youth welfare organisations. Angelica Benz was therefore very happy about the cheque that was presented by (from left) Ana Hachenberger, Harald Geyer and Boris Bannwitz and returned the favour with a guided tour of the SOS Children's Village.

December 2017: SIP Scootershop donates 3.000 € to ARCHE Landsberg

Five employees of SIP Scootershop were invited to visit the shared apartment and hand over a check. "As always, we were warmly welcomed at Landsberg Ark. We talked to a resident and a caregiver, who also told us some information and the history of the ark. Afterwards we were guided through the house, we were allowed to look at the rooms and the small chapel. Around 16:30 the remaining residents arrived from work and the conversations continued over coffee and cake. This was followed by the presentation of the cheque with a group photo. We were all very impressed by the cohabitation of the residents and caretakers and are happy to support this great project with our donation".

January 2016: SIP Scootershop donates to the Hospice Group Landsberg

SIP Scootershop was able to donate 190 € to the hospice group Landsberg am Lech from the proceeds of this year's Advent event, where customers were offered mulled wine and bratwurst for a voluntary payment. SIP Scootershop GmbH supports social institutions such as the SOS Children's Village and the ARCHE Landsberg as part of the SIP AID initiative.

August 2016: SIP Scootershop: Eleventh donation for SOS Children's Village

Dießen, August 29, 2016 - SIP Scootershop and social commitment belong inseparably together: Although the scooter specialist only recently mastered the move to a larger company building, this year it is supporting the SOS Children's Village for the eleventh time in a row with a donation of 4,000 euros. SOS division manager Christoph Rublack (centre) was very pleased about the cheque, which was presented by (from left) Bettina Thomamüller (incoming goods), Maximilian Reiter (sales), Andreas Rabl (purchasing) and Lucks Vimol (shipping) in Dießen. He returned the favour with a guided tour of the SOS Children's Village, during which the employees of the Landsberg mail order shop also visited the residential group of the unaccompanied refugees cared for by SOS Children's Villages. The donation goes to the work of the family midwife, who supports young refugee families.

December 2016: SIP Scootershop donation to the ARCHE Landsberg

As a tradition for years, the Christmas donation of SIP Scootershop in the amount of 3.000 € was given to the ARCHE in Landsberg. After SIP employees visited the community in their house in Iglingerstraße in the last years, this time an invitation to the new premises of the SIP Scootershop was extended. After the entry in the guestbook, the exhibited scooters probably inspired the most. These were of course used for souvenir photos and were diligently posed on them. Equipped with new caps, the tour continued through the warehouse, where the guests probably had the greatest pleasure in riding on the forklifts through the rows of high shelves. Finally, the offices were inspected and an early reunion was arranged, at the latest for a pizza in the SIPeria!

July 2015: SIP Scootershop supports hospital in Cameroon

At the end of 2014 we supported the Landsberg doctor Dr. Gatz for the first time in his hospital project in Cameroon. With what we're pretty good at: Logistics. We packed his discarded hospital beds, clinic inventory, equipment and much more into a sea container, cleared customs and shipped it to Cameroon. Total costs 8,000 €. His project impresses with its own initiative, high level of personal commitment, a lot of passion and above all an immediate effect on people without the danger of money seeping away in places where it should not. The second project in June 2015 was an urgently needed new ultrasound machine, which the clinic was able to purchase with a donation of over 3,000 € from us. With this, the doctors are now training Cameroonian colleagues, supported by a useful beamer. The quality and above all the suitability for tropical conditions of the new ultrasound device are first class. This is where disease patterns can be identified that have been misdiagnosed for years.

November 2015: "MiniMax" is happy about SIP Scootershop

"We are very happy" beamed coordinator Alexandra Brown (right) from the SOS family meeting point MiniMax: Thanks to a 4,000 euro donation from SIP Scootershop, the defective coffee machine, the heart of the internationally visited parents' café with childcare, can finally be replaced. There is also enough money left over to purchase toys for the coveted toddler playgroups. During their visit to Spöttinger Straße 2a in Landsberg, Martina Haggenmüller, Ronny Berger and Julia Jarczok (from left) from SIP Scootershop were very impressed by the open facility of the SOS Family and Advice Center, which offers free German courses, among other things. The SOS family meeting place MiniMax has developed from small beginnings, as has the scooter specialist SIP Scootershop. The Landsberg mail order shop has been supporting the SOS Children's Village Ammersee-Lech for ten years now.

December 2015: Donation to the ARCHE Landsberg

As part of the SIP AID campaign, SIP Scootershop again donated to the ARCHE Landsberg. It is almost a tradition for the Landsberg-based company to visit the Ark at the end of the year and bring a cheque with them. The SIP Scootershop employees were warmly welcomed by the assistants in the community rooms, who were first allowed to enjoy the homemade cake or hearty pretzels. There was an informative exchange about the life and everyday life of the residents with a subsequent guided tour of the house. Meanwhile the residents came home from work and the large living room filled up. They were very happy about the coming of the team of the Landsberg scooter accessory dealer and then joyfully held the cheque for 3,000 € in their hands. The donation can be well used for the upcoming renovation of the common room. It was a successful afternoon and with very good food, interesting impressions and the feeling to have given someone a pleasure in the pre-Christmas period.

January 2014: SIP Scootershop supports the Humanitarian Aid Association

One of the projects of the Humanitarian Aid Association is the reconstruction of a hospital and its further development into a reference centre in Ndoungue in Cameroon. The project manager is the former senior physician of the Landsberg am Lech Clinic, Dr. med. Soeren Gatz. On site, the director was Dr. François Marie Djomou Touomo, who visited Germany in mid-January and gave deep insights into the situation in Ndoungue. SIP Scootershop has not only supported Humanitäre Hilfe e.V. with financial means (approx. 5,500 €) but also with manpower and logistical organization. The task was to ship urgently needed material to Cameroon. This included discarded hospital beds, mattresses, surgical accessories, doctors' and patients' clothing, medical equipment and much more. No sooner said than done. On Friday, 17.01.2014 the container was loaded with the help of a SIP delegation and sets off on its journey to West Africa.

July 2014: SIP Scootershop donates €4,000 to the SOS Children's Village

SOS area manager Christoph Rublack (centre) was very pleased and there are already some urgent measures that can now be tackled with the donation. During a visit to Dießen, he described life in the SOS Children's Village to SIP Scootershop employees (from left) Stefanie Schönauer, Gudrun Pfundmayr, Uwe Kabrhel and Robert Kerner and answered the numerous questions of the very interested visitors.

September 2014: SIP Scootershop supports the Landsberg Arche

We got it and we like to take part in the Icebucket- or Coldwaterchallenge. Within the scope of the campaign we donate 500 € to the Arche in Landsberg. Have fun with the video of the action and the employees and disabled people of the Arche have fun with our donation!

December 2014: SIP Scootershop supports the Arche in Landsberg

A small delegation of the SIP Scootershop team visited the Landsberg facility again this year and was able to help the company with a €3,000 donation. For the visit of the SIP team there was coffee, excellent cake, a guided tour including background information and a sensational flute performance by Sebastian Zimmek (front). The donations will be used to set up a recreation room where handicrafts and music can be done. The residents and their carers can also look forward to an invitation to next year's SIP Scootershop Open Day on May 9, 2015, to which they are cordially invited.

June 2013: SIP Scootershop finances trip to Finland for SOS Children's Villages

The joy in the SOS Children's Village is great: with a donation of a proud 4,000 euros, SIP Scootershop is financing a two-week trip to Finland for the boys and girls to visit the SOS Children's Villages there. There, the children from Dießen meet up again with their peers who had stopped off last year on their way to the SOS holiday village Caldonazzo on Lake Ammersee and spent the night in Haus Mosaik. SOS area manager Christoph Rublack (3rd from the left) was very pleased about the donation, which can also be used to pay for other leisure activities, but above all about the many years of loyalty of SIP Scootershop. The Landsberg-based company, which now has 70 employees, has been closely associated with the SOS Children's Village since 2005. This time (from left) Oliver Schmuck, Jarly Surivong, Hansjörg Dahmen, Ernst Gareis and Stefan Bressel visited (from left) the institution in Dießen and were very interested in the everyday life of the boys and girls during a guided tour through the village.

December 2013: SIP Scootershop donates 3.000 € to the ARCHE

Also this year the Landsberg scooter accessory specialist SIP Scootershop GmbH donated an amount of 3.000,00 € to the ARCHE Landsberg. For this purpose, a 4-member delegation of the Landsberg company appeared on 17.12. in the residential community for disabled people in Landsberg for inspection and cheque handover. Here is a short report: "When we arrived at the ARCHE Landsberg in the late afternoon and were warmly welcomed, the well-set table with coffee and cake was already ready. We had a nice chat with the caretakers and the residents and got some information about the house and the history of the ARCHE. After the meal the inhabitants played us well-rehearsed pieces on their musical instruments and we were sung an Indian song. A short tour followed and the residents took us through the whole house and showed us their rooms. We were impressed by the concept of the ARCHE, the performance of the partly volunteer staff and the great residents".

SIP Scootershop has been a loyal sponsor for seven years

The most loyal regional supporters of the SOS Children's Village come from Landsberg: Since 2005, the local SIP Scootershop has donated one euro to the SOS Children's Village in Dießen for every online order. A total of 35 700 euros has already been collected. During their recent visit to the SOS Children's Village, Sylvia Legath, Antonio Bruno, Stefanie Barth and Manuela Jurack (from left) together with Leonie presented a proud 4,000 euros to the delight of SOS Area Manager Christoph Rublack.

October 2012: SIP Scootershop donates € 3,000 for Arche

This year, as last year, SIP Scootershop has donated an amount of 3,000.00 € to the ARCHE Landsberg. After we were already welcomed so warmly there last year, some members of our team were allowed to visit the inhabitants of the ARCHE again this year. In the afternoon we sat together with coffee and cake, where we learned more about the ARCHE Landsberg, upcoming projects and of course about the individual residents and caretakers. After the joint discussions, we visited the new garden and the new bicycle parking spaces, which were made possible with the help of our donation from last year.

March 2011: SIP Scootershop donates to earthquake victims in Japan

SIP Scootershop donates 500 € to the victims of the earthquake in Japan The events after the terrible earthquake and the tsunami as well as the accident of the nuclear power plant in Japan are breathtaking. It is difficult to imagine the worries and problems of the local people. We at SIP Scootershop have donated 500 € for the people who often lost everything. We also founded the Facebook group "Scooterists support Japan after Earthquake" and show the Japanese scooter riders and the whole population that we are with them in thought.

August 2011: Donation and tombola at the summer party in the SOS Children's Village

With great applause the boys and girls (back from left) Benny Gerum, Joscha Blank and Pierre Pahr from SIP Scootershop in Landsberg greeted Benny Gerum, Joscha Blank and Pierre Pahr at their summer party in the SOS Children's Village. This time, the "long-standing and faithful sponsors" (SOS area manager Christoph Rublack, back right) presented a cheque for 4000 euros, which will be used for the construction of the new Haus Mosaik (in the background). For their part, the children used the summer festival to support their peers who are currently suffering great hardship in Somalia: On the initiative of Ute Starck's Kinderdorf family, each family collected games, puzzles, cassettes, but also vases and books, which served as prizes in a raffle with almost 300 tickets for the benefit of SOS Children's Villages in Africa. SIP Scootershop has been supporting the SOS Children's Village with regular donations for years.

November 2011: SIP Scootershop supports the Landsberg Arche

This year, SIP Scootershop was once again able to support the Landsberg Ark with a € 3,000 donation. A small delegation of SIP-students was warmly welcomed by the inhabitants of the Arche. In addition to a guided tour with lots of background information, there was also homemade cake and coffee. Afterwards a small show interlude by Stefan (sitting, 2nd from left) on his tuba.
Most of the donation will be used for the redesign of the garden, covered bicycle parking and a barbecue area. In addition, the staircase is still in need of renovation. Maybe the SIPers will be invited to the next barbecue to celebrate a little with the residents in the newly designed garden.

January 2010: SIP Scootershop donates for earthquake relief Haiti

SIP Scootershop donates 500 € for the earthquake relief Haiti to Caritas International. Caritas helps on site with food, large tents, plastic tarpaulins and blankets, water canisters and chlorine tablets. Alexander Barth, Managing Director of SIP Scootershop: "The population of Haiti was hit with full force by one of the biggest natural disasters in recent history. It would not have taken the aftershock yesterday to realize what unimaginable suffering the catastrophe has brought to the country and its population. SIP Scootershop is aware of its social responsibility and helps within the framework of SIP Aid by making an immediate donation to Caritas International, also on behalf of all employees and customers".

August 2010: SIP Scootershop guest at the summer party in the SOS Children's Village

Guests at the - this time unfortunately rainy - summer party of the SOS Children's Village Ammersee were (from left) Nesli Camsari, Martin Silberhorn, Andrea Schulz and (right) Benny Gerum from the SIP Scotershop in Landsberg. Together with a part of the families they experienced the performance of the children's band "Karacho" as well as the farewell of some school leavers. The employees of the mail order company for scooter accessories had not come empty-handed: They handed over a cheque for 2,700 euros, with which the long-cherished wish for self-built huts and a boat shed should come true. According to SOS area manager Christoph Rublack (2nd from right), SIP Scootershop is one of the most loyal supporters from the region and donates to the SOS Children's Village with every online order.

December 2009: Scootershop is a loyal sponsor of the SOS Children's Village

The SOS Children's Village Ammersee has found a loyal and committed sponsor in the Landsberg SIP Scootershop: For the fifth time in a row, the young mail order company for scooter accessories has decided to support the boys and girls financially - with a donation of 5000 Euros. The company, which is celebrating its 15th anniversary this year, originated in the garage of Walter Barth (left), the father of one of the two managing directors. Together with (from the right) Mario Ott (shipping), Christian Seidl with daughter Lena (retailer support, event organisation and call centre) and Otto Wermescher (incoming goods), he delivered a cheque to SOS area manager Christoph Rublack. Interested visitors were guided through the village and also saw the "Sonnenhaus", for whose renovation the donation will be used.

May 2008: Soccer jerseys for the SOS Children's Village in Dießen

Landsberg. The scooter shipping specialist SIP Scootershop has been committed to the SOS-Kinderdorf e.V. for several years as part of its SIP AID initiative. During these weeks, the Landsberg-based company equipped the Dießen SOS Children's Village with new football tricots. This in time for the 11th Nationwide Children's Village Cup in Irschenberg. The eight to 14-year-olds from the SOS Children's Village Ammersee-Lech took part in football and streetball tournaments (7th and 8th place) and also secured a good result in the Fairness Cup. As in the training, the participants from Dießen also placed fair play in the foreground here: When choosing their seats, the children handed over pennants they had designed themselves and greeted and said goodbye to their opponents with a handshake - even if it was sometimes difficult. In football, after a highly dramatic penalty kick final, in which Amon held all the penalties of his opponents, it was enough for 7th place. At the streetball final against the same opponent, a Berlin children's village, the team from Dießen came 8th, and at the big table football tournament they achieved a 5th place.

December 2008: Young mail order business with social awareness

A young company with great social awareness is SIP Scootershop in Landsberg. For four years now, the mail order shop for scooter spare parts has been donating one euro per online order to the SOS Children's Village in Dießen. SOS area manager Christoph Rublack was "very enthusiastic" about the campaign, which this year once again raised 5000 Euros for the SOS Children's Village. In addition, the shop had also donated jerseys for the little athletes who had successfully participated in the German Children's Village Cup in the summer. Tina Ossenberg (incoming goods), Kathi Struwe (purchasing), Margarete Müller, Katharina Weigand (both shipping), Britta Herfort (customer care/from left) and little Juli handed over the cheque to Rublack and in return received a guided tour and lots of information about the SOS Children's Village.

July 2007: SOS Children's Village in Dießen is happy about 5000 Euro

Since 2005, the Landsberg-based online mail order company SIP Scootershop has been donating one euro to the Dießen SOS Children's Village 'Ammersee' for every online order of Vespa equipment. Already in September last year 5000 € could be handed over in the children's village, now this proud sum was handed over for the second time in the company rooms.

In addition, the owners of SIP Scootershop, Ralf Jodl and Alexander Barth, confirmed that the commitment will be permanently continued. "We are in the fortunate position of being in secure conditions - we are doing well," explained the two owners, "and we would like to share this with others who are struggling more.

June 2006: Scooters bring warmth into the family home

Another 5000€ donation from SIP Scootershop for SOS Kinderdorf

Since last year, the Landsberg-based online mail order company SIP Scootershop has been donating one euro to the Dießen SOS Children's Village 'Ammersee' for every online order of Vespa equipment.

Christoph Rublack, division manager at the SOS Children's Village in Dießen, could hardly believe this happiness: "We are very grateful to SIP Scootershop for its great commitment," he explained at the cheque presentation, and explained what the sum will be used for this time: the SOS Children's Village is currently converting a family house so that a contemporary place to live can be created for another Kinderdorf family. The first donation had already been used for the extension, and the sum that has now been handed over will be used to finance a fireplace and the associated wood stove in the new extension. "The Kinderdorf family", reports Rublack, "would like to counteract the energy costs that are running off by using wood as a cheap and renewable fuel". In addition, a stove radiates the warmth and comfort that both children and adults often appreciate so much.

July 2006: SIP Scootershop and GRAVIS hand over "Apple Mac Mini

Computer dealer GRAVIS in cooperation with SIP Scootershop hands over a computer "Apple mac mini" worth about 800€ to the mother of the Dießener SOS Children's Village This means that duty rosters, daily documentation etc. can now be created on an IT basis, and without viruses, worms and annoying system crashes.

September 2005: SIP Scootershop hands over €5000 donation

Landsberg online company is committed to Dießen SOS Children's Village Dießen. Since spring 2005, the Landsberg-based mail order company for Vespa and scooter spare parts has donated one euro to SOS Children's Villages for every online order placed. Now the SOS Children's Village 'Ammersee' in Dießen could be presented with the impressive amount of 5000 €.

The company has been committed to social projects for years - now it had decided to support the SOS Children's Villages. For the two owners, Ralf Jodl and Alexander Barth, the reason for this was that many young people are also looked after in the SOS Children's Villages, because young people are also strongly represented among the customers of the Scootershop. In addition, said Jodl at the donation handover, SOS Children's Villages is a globally active social organisation - and many orders for spare parts now come from abroad.

"We are in the happy position of being in secure conditions - we are doing well," the two owners continued, "and we would like to share this with others who are struggling more. The sum, according to division manager Christoph Rublack of SOS Children's Villages, will be used for the expansion of a family home that is currently being planned: "We can only shoulder this considerable investment with the help of individuals and companies that support us financially. In the converted family house, which is scheduled for completion in mid-2006, six children who cannot live with their biological parents will live together with an SOS mother as a family. Rublack thanked the donors warmly for their commitment, and they went one better: it is planned to continue the campaign permanently. SIP Scootershop has also made reference to SOS Children's Villages on its website.

December 2004: Tsunami in Asia

For the victims of the tsunami in Asia, we spontaneously donated to the German Red Cross, because this donation was quickly on the spot with a large team and was set up for long-term aid.

(Landsberger Tagblatt of 04.01.2005) "SIP Scootershop from Landsberg donated 500 Euros to the German Red Cross to support their work during the flood disaster in South Asia. In addition, the SIP Scootershop website contains an appeal for donations to all customers".

September 2002: Flood catastrophe on the Elbe river, Germany

We have collected donations from our customers for the victims of the flood of the century in East Germany. Every Euro donated was doubled by us. The donations went to the Landsberg partner city Waldheim.

(Landsberger Tagblatt of 16.09.2002) "The company SIP Scootershop has asked customers who have ordered goods for donations for the flood victims. The employees also put something on top of it, as Ralf Jodl told the LT, so that a donation of 527.35 euros was collected. SIP Scootershop has donated this sum to the trade association of the twin town Waldheim".
