The SIP Joyride is a fixed date in July - for many this daytrip scooter-group-ride has become a tradition already. In a number of places people team up for the ride already, organising themselves via Facebook for instance, arriving here in Landsberg in groups. By and by scooterists from all over the place reach their destination, drink a coffee in the SIPERIA and marvel at the shiny Vespas and Lambrettas.
The oldest Vespa to date was a 1948, the oldest rider was 88, one scooterboy made the trip from Australia, one scootergirl came all the way from Hongkong! If they are to be believed they rated their visit to Landsberg and their participation in the scooter ride-out higher than their visit to Neuschwanstein or to the German parliament in Berlin. Scooterists have been known to travel from the Mosel, from north of Stuttgart, from Vorarlberg as well as from Salzburg to join us for this scooter family event in Landsberg.
The tour follows quiet country lanes around SIP Scootershop in Landsberg, riding through the iconic old City of Landsberg and passing through small villages between the Lech river and the Ammersee lake, possibly one of the most scenic landscapes in Germany. In Diessen on the Ammersee we stop for a drink, a chat and to enjoy the spectacular view of the lake. After an hour’s brake the group will continue the ride to the southern Ammersee, to the Andechs monastery, and then, via Pilsensee and Wörthsee to Schondorf, to the Seepost – the final destination of the 80km ride.
The SIP Vespa & Lambretta Joyride is also meant for 50cc scooters to come and join! You will find the SIP Joyride listed as an Event on our Facebook page, you will find the all the latest information there. Best like the page and choose “interested” or “participate” to be kept up to date.
See you at our SIP Joyride in Landsberg, we’re looking forward to seeing you there!
