Product description
The MICHELIN City Grip 2 scooter tyre is the direct evolution of the extremely popular MICHELIN City Grip.
With this tyre, the success story of the MICHELIN City Grip series has been continued. Yamaha and Peugeot have confidence in this tyre, and fit their scooters with the MICHELIN City Grip 2 ex-works. And there are good reasons why this tyre has always sold well at SIP Scootershop.
- Excellent grip
- Long durability
- New rubber compound
The MICHELIN City Grip 2 is the further development of the now legendary City Grip series for the town and the open road. This version provides for safety on dry and wet asphalt – whether in or out of town. The new silica-based rubber compound, with its shark-tooth sipes, provides an excellent grip on wet and slippery roads. And it goes without saying that the time-proven City Grip technology is also used.
PST for the City Grip 2
With its City Grip series, in 2010, MICHELIN developed its first-ever scooter tyres using so-called Progressive Sipe Technology (PST): Continuous, patented sipes break up the surface of the water film, regardless of how worn the tread is. And with the increased number of sipes on the tyre shoulders, safe cornering is a breeze. Like its predecessor, the MICHELIN City Grip 2 is now a best-seller at SIP Scootershop.
Please note: Unless stated otherwise, scooter tyres can be used as either front or rear tyres.
Conclusion: The MICHELIN City Grip 2 is the safe choice in every weather and all seasons! Technical details 12 to 16 inch 90 to 150 width 12 to 15 inch available as reinforced TL Speed index S
We recommend - our SIP-TIP:
- The perfect rim for the City Grip 2
- Here you can find all front and rear tyres for the City Grip 2
- The SIP workshop service mounts the City Grip 2 on the rim for a small extra charge
- SIP has inexpensive rims for all vehicles. It is best to mount a set of winter or all-weather tyres on rims, then you can change quickly and easily when the weather conditions are right. You don't have to get your fingers dirty unnecessarily or visit a workshop to mount them.
Feedback from the scene
»The successor of the City Grip is again a great success. It warms up quickly and also builds up grip quickly. In the rain, even at low temperatures, you have a track-stable riding feeling. In my opinion, the best scooter tyre at the moment. Highly recommended even for "racy" riding and scratchy lean angles!«

»With the City Grip 2 they have designed an excellent tyre for all weather conditions and the high mileage also speaks for it.«
-Nico Gnisci, 7-time DBM champion
»Michelin's City Grip 2 is absolutely perfect on my Kymco 400 X-yting scooter, lies impeccably on the road in any position, in dry and wet conditions! Comfort is exceptionally good! Price-performance ratio is right. I can only recommend it.«
