Tuning Chip E-Bike VOLspeed V2 (Gen4 Smart System)

The VOLspeed V2 tuning chip for e-bikes with Generation 4 BOSCH drives with Smart System (BES3) - now with optimized connectors and extended software support.

The VOLspeed V2 Tuning Chip for BOSCH Smart System removes the 25 km/h speed limit and offers many useful functions: Maximum speed setting (25-45 km/h), smooth control behavior (dynamic mode), individual activation codes and automatic operation without calibration. Compatible with the BOSCH software update from April 2025.

The VOLspeed V2 Tuning Chip for BOSCH Smart System

With VOLspeed V2, the limit of 25 km/h can be lifted. The maximum assistance speed can be freely selected in the range of 25-45 km/h. The setting is made using the plus/minus buttons on the control unit - the selected value is saved. To avoid error 504, a maximum value of 35 km/h is recommended. Tuning is activated using the buttons for the assistance levels in the sequence - + - +. After activation, the Display shows the current speed limit for 5 seconds. Tuning is always deactivated when the e-bike is switched on. In the optional dynamic mode, the cut-off when reaching the maximum speed is smoother - the riding behavior appears more natural, the abrupt "wall effect" is eliminated. An individual activation code can be defined. The module is fully configurable without a PC or smartphone. It does not require its own power supply.

Note: When tuning is activated, the Display shows a speed that is too low from approx. 21 km/h and the distance measurement also deviates - the mileage is therefore lower than actually driven.

Installation and removal

The module is connected directly to the Engine without damaging any wires. Thanks to new, injection-molded connectors with metal sockets, the connection is particularly robust. The module is installed behind the Engine Cover. The module is not visible from the outside and is immediately ready for use - no calibration is required. The electronics are encapsulated and protected against moisture. Removal is done by simply disconnecting the plug connection and leaves no traces on the bike.

Compatible with all BOSCH drive systems with Smart System (BES3) where assistance is limited to 25 km/h - incl. upgrade April 2025 (e.g. software version 15.24.2 for Performance Line CX).

• E-bikes with ABS system
• E-bikes with rim magnet on the rear wheel (e.g. Bosch SX with rim magnet)
• BOSCH SX with ABS

Attention: Do not carry out software updates after installation. Updates can impair the function or block it permanently.

Conclusion: The revised VOLspeed V2 is the most reliable tuning solution for the BOSCH Smart System - future-proof, precise and robust.
