The Swiss-made cable starter is designed for the highest loads and has proven itself in racing. The ready-to-install pull starter fits all PIAGGIO CIAO moped models with mono and Vario drive. Especially with tuned mopeds for racing, the pedal drive is often replaced by footrests. To start the vehicle, you can push-start it, or simply convert to the practical pull-start.

Assembly:

1. starter pinion: clean mounting surfaces, then screw the counterpart for the pullstarter onto the clutch or variator (secure enclosed flange nut with Loctite).

2. pull starter: Lightly fasten the housing adapter using the motor screws. Then put on the round housing with the pullstarter unit and fix it with the enclosed M5 x 45mm screws. Finally, tighten the motor screws.

Application:

1. before starting, pull the cable slowly a few times so that the engine spins empty (must be done before each start attempt).

2. Pull out the pull-start handle until it is fully engaged and meets resistance. Then pull through in one go.

Tip: Wear gloves! Hold the handle firmly.

Note: The pedal system can no longer be operated because the pedal arms would touch the housing of the cable starter. Therefore, footrests or a pedal axle extension must be fitted.

Our recommendation - the SIP-TIP:

• To mount the left side cover, it must be machined. In order not to destroy the beautiful original cover, we recommend the inexpensive side covers from the accessories.
• The flange nut on the crankshaft should be mounted with Loctite threadlocker.
