Product description
The Wine for real VESPA fans! Barbera is one of the classic Grapes of Italy's Piedmont region, though it is popular throughout much of Northwest Italy and has gained a following in California. Searing acidity has been a trait of Barbera though modern viticultural techniques and warmer regions have tamed the acidity, resulting in medium-bodied wines with bright, red fruit tones that feature hints of violets, earth and plum with just a whisper of tannin.
LABEL: A family portrait on a vintage Vespa, a symbol of the 50s, the years of the reconstruction. A happy picture that stresses the values and the simplicity of the family’s business. Childrens’ eyes that look into the bright future of today.
It’s the classic Barbera-vine, that grows on different hilly vinyards. Every hectare of land holds about 5000 vines that carry 8500-9000kg of grapes, which equals 60-62 hectoliters of wine. The grape harvest starts at the end of September. The grapes are carefully chosen and instantly vinified. The fermentation of the most in temperature-controlled environment takes 6-7 days. The repeated circulation has positive effects on the extraction of colour pigments and scent. After the most has been decanted with the utmost care, the malolactic fermentation can begin. After a short period of ripening, the vine is filled into bottles. Fresh and well-flavoured, which is typical for its youth, it can be drunk only a few months later. It can just as well be stored for many years.
The intensely ruby colour proves the wine’s freshness. A long lasting flavour, fruity, reminding of flowers and fresh fruits. Dry, harmonious, spicy and well balanced in taste. A happy invitation to toast and dine.
