Electronic Ignition with adjustable ignition timing from VMC for many Vespa Models.
The company VMC offers affordable IDM-based Ignitions for Vespa scooters. The manufacturer states that the ignition is suitable for Engines that reach speeds of up to 9000 rpm.
- 8 degree adjustment of the ignition timing
- Aluminum fan
- Good price-performance ratio
Like all IDM-based ignitions, the "Classico" ignition adjusts by 8 degrees. The variable ignition timing is rather unsuitable for original cylinders.
The Flywheel is equipped with an additional flywheel mass and the fan attachment is made of cast aluminum. In addition to the stator, rotor and CDI, the scope of delivery also includes a Voltage Regulator.
Due to its low price, the VMC Ignition is one of the first alternatives when converting from 6V to 12V.
In contrast to the SIP PERFORMANCE ignition by Vape, however, the VMC ignition has a much lower electrical output power at low speeds. We therefore recommend the more powerful SIP Vape Ignition for all scooter riders who are often out and about in the evening or in the dark.
Conclusion: A good alternative in the entry-level class.
The best setup - our SIP TIP:
- Order the right Spark Plug at the same time
- After installation, it is best to check the ignition timing with the flash gun
- The Flywheel can only be removed with the correct Puller Tool
