The higher the mileage of your VESPA the more parts wear out or fail to function properly. The main bearing and oil seal surfaces in the crankcase can become scratched or out of shape, the disc valve seal can also be affected over time along with the various threads. Hard contact with the tarmac and/ or kerb can also leave your motor unusable. Another good reason for a replacement crankcase is that it provides an excellent basis for extensive motor tuning projects. If you have ever tuned an engine before you will definitely appreciate being able to work on a fresh set of crankcases.
LML can still deliver crankcases that PIAGGIO no longer produce. They are identical in shape and design to the original PIAGGIO items, with a good quality casting and of overall production.
PIAGGIO has regrettably ceased production of all PX crankcases apart from the current 150cc version.
Now and again we come across varying quantities of NOS (new old stock) which means that we can offer differing original PIAGGIO crankcases for sale, due to availability. The inconsistency of this type of transaction, the NOS crankcases can only be made available on a first come, first served basis. Momentarily we have been able to source some PX80 and PK crankcases in this way.
