The brakes are something that often is almost criminally neglected when scooters are tuned. What use it the most powerful engine though when decelerating regularly turns into a near-death experience? Let’s be honest: The original brakes were never meant to deal with an engine that makes serious power.

We now offer this modified SIP conversion fork to be used on traditional smallframes and other Vespas. It’s based on the steering column of the Vespa PK50-125/S/SS/XL/Automatica. The built height, the actual steering tube and the steering stop have been adapted to fit the particular model. Due to manufacturing tolerances between the different scooter models it is not possible to machine the slot, or the hole, for the steering lock; this will have to be custom added after a fork dry-build.
Disc brakes and Shocks
This conversion accepts all 20mm Grimeca disc-brakes. In addition to that, the scooter now can be run on a proper 10” suspension, including all modern tires with the speed index you require. The fork is a straight fit to your frame. You will have to modify the seat of the front fender though. In addition to that you will need a shorter front shock to correct the swinging link angle! What is compatible with the fork? The complete kit is perfect for everybody who does not want to tediously track down all small bits and pieces required to complete the PK50-125/S/SS/XL/Automatica fork conversion. The kit includes the complete headset bearing, the dust cover and the small parts required to fit the shocks, the brake drum and the speedo cable. You still need to order the speedo cable, the drum centre cover and the swinging link cover. We also offer conversion rims to got to 10” in the rear too. For owners of vintage scooters fitting a P-Range engine also is an option. As an alternative we also offer a either a conversion rim or a conversion brake drum kit for a 10” wheel. Make sure to also order the front rim, tires, a brake, speedo cable and shock! In addition to that you will need a new upper mounting bracket to compensate for the 4mm offset.
Attention: depending on the length of the spring elements at the front and rear, it may be necessary to shorten or lengthen the main stand so that the scooter stands reliably and can be jacked up and down with little effort.
