An option to suit all appearances. Wheel hubs for GRIMECA disc brakes suitable for Vespa PX and PK steering columns.

Disc brake technology represents an important upgrade for safety and riding fun for vintage Vespa models equipped with drum brakes. One slight drawback though is that the appearance of the Vespa suspension and wheel is decisively altered.

The hubs that replace the drum of the original brake for wheel attachment were, up till now, only available with two design variations. These were the star shaped version that came with the Vespa PX '98 facelift models or the controversial webbed or spoked design.

These limited options are now anecdotal, due to the cooperation of the SIP team with the engineers at GRIMECA. This larger variety of wheel hub designs available for the GRIMECA disc brakes are now exclusively available from the SIP webshop!

Original appearance since the fifties.

At last it is possible to ride your disc brake equipped vintage scooter with a wheel hub resembling the original brake drum with the GRIMECA NT 'Classic Look' disc brake system. They have no star or spokes to disturb the vintage design. We have arranged for these items to be produced by GRIMECA themselves We not only made sure that the spoked look was removed, it was made a priority to restore the cooling fins with the same appearance and dimensions of the ORIGINAL brake drums - as included on Vespa scooters since the 1950's.

Spoilt for choice.

The original wheel hub included with the GRIMECA aftermarket disc brake kit is decorated with a webbed/spoked design across its surface. We also have various disc brake kits available with these designs. One in a decent silver, a sporty black version or an especially elegant black with a contrasting silver decoration.

The stars of ´98:

We naturally stock the original star shaped hub that came with the Vespa PX MY `98 and millennium models, that is also produced by GRIMECA. A replacement for the original in top quality with the typical appearance of this model while enabling the use of a decent chain lock.

Technology:

The hubs that resemble brake drum hubs with the ORIGINAL and webbed/spoked design are available to fit both the 16mm and 20mm diameter axle pins. A further improvement since 2019, is the additional valve cut out. This allows the fitting of wheels types from all producers to these wheels hubs.

Conclusion: The days of a disc brakes system disturbing the design of a Vespa are over with the introduction of these wheel hubs.
