Product description
Another small but decisive feature in the carburetor accessories area are the Reed Valve Petals. In contrast to the standard plates, which are made of steel or GRP, tuning plates can withstand speeds above 10,000 rpm due to their composition. These Reed Valve Petals ensure better Engine response and better acceleration, especially in the lower speed range. An important advantage over their steel counterparts is their higher tensile strength. The risk of major engine damage (Cylinder or Crankshaft defects) due to torn Reed Valve Petals is therefore minimized through the insertion of tuning plates. In addition, "fragments" of GRP, carbon and carbonite plates are simply "swallowed" by the Engine.
TheReed Valve Petals from MALOSSI are available in three versions as GRP , carbon or carbonite plates , each with 2-3 different thicknesses . This means that the intake timing can be adjusted almost indefinitely.
Reed Valve Petals GRP
Serve as standard replacement plates and replace the metal plates. They have a better vibration behavior and make the throttle response much more agile even in this simple version.
Reed Valve Petals Carbon/Carbonio
Carbon plates bonded to the body. The difference to metal, fiberglass and GRP plates lies in the flexibility and weight of the material. Carbon plates allow a higher passage volume, are almost unbreakable and offer optimum vibration behavior! In addition, Malossi also offers the "carbonio" dies for some Reed Valve Blocks in 45° (MHR) and 90° (MHR Team) fabric fiber course. The 90° Dies allow a wider opening angle. Recommended maintenance interval at least every 1000 - 3000 km!
Reed Valve Petals Carbonite
Malossi Karbonit Reed Valve Petals are specially coated fiberglass Reed Valve Petals. The coating pushes the elongation at break to the limit. Compared to carbon plates, these are somewhat slower in vibration behavior with the same thickness. However, the coating creates a tensile force on one side that allows the dies to open progressively and close quickly.
Basically, the rule applies (depending on the vibration behavior and material):
Thinner dies lead to a better tighteninganda better acceleration,
thicker Dies allow higher speeds and therefore a higher higher top speed.
