To celebrate its 60th anniversary alongside the Vespa GTV, the Vespa GT60 was released in a special edition of only 999 units. It was based on the GTV model, but had specific differences: The GT60 was only available in a uniform shade of grey (colour code 786/A), which was based on the first prototypes. It also had a genuine black leather Seat and chrome-plated rims. Each buyer received a leather box with unique contents: a numbered badge personalised with the buyer's initials to be attached to the scooter, an additional silver badge, a special edition of the Book "Vespa, Italian style for the world", a leather Key Chain, a leather Document Pouch, a satin-finish protective tarpaulin, a hand-signed drawing of the Vespa GT60 and a detailed brochure. The Vespa GT60 was never included in Piaggio's official price lists and was offered at a price of around 8,000 euros.
