Overview Vespa 50 Special (V5B1)

Between 1969 and 1972, the first series of the Vespa 50 Special was manufactured with a 3-speed gearbox, while the third series was produced from 1972 to 1983 with a 4-speed gearbox. The first series was characterised by the antique, slanted Badge on the front and rear as well as 9-inch wheels, in contrast to the 10-inch wheels of the third series. Another recognisable feature of the Vespa was the trapezoidal Headlight Unit, which was set into a chrome-plated brass ring. In addition, the Horn was covered with a plastic panelling for the first time.

• Leg shield reinforcement in aluminium Beading design

• Floor Runners made of aluminium with recessed rubber profiles

• Front Cover (Horn Cover) made of light grey plastic

• Mudguard trim and Rear Light Cover also made of light grey plastic

• Elongated Steering Lock, fitted with a Cap

• From 1974, enlarged ball diameter on the thin Clutch and brake levers

• Clutch and Brake Lever fixed to the Handlebar with Phillips screws

• Black striped handlebar grips with hexagonal Piaggio logo

• Tank designed for Seating a seat post for Single Saddle

• Metal control lever for the Fuel Tap
