The Piaggio SKR (also known as the Skipper in some markets) is a compact scooter that came onto the market in the 1990s. It was offered in various cubic capacity classes, including 125 and 150 cubic centimetres. Depending on the model, two- or four-stroke engines were inserted.
The SKR/Skipper is characterised by its sporty design with clear lines, a stable chassis and a comparatively comfortable seat for its time. The model usually has a storage compartment under the Seat and, thanks to the Variomatic, ensures easy handling in city traffic. The combination of manoeuvrability, good acceleration and solid workmanship made it particularly popular with commuters, but also with leisure riders.
