The Piaggio Sfera is a compact scooter that was launched on the market in the early 1990s. It was generally equipped with air-cooled two-stroke engines in the 50 and 80 cubic centimetre displacement classes. The Sfera is characterised by its closed plastic fairing and the rather round design typical of the time, which offers good wind and weather protection. The Model had a small storage compartment, an automatic transmission unit (Variomatic) and offered manoeuvrable handling in city traffic thanks to its low weight. Thanks to its uncomplicated technology and features suitable for everyday use, the Sfera was particularly popular with commuters before being replaced by newer Piaggio scooter series in the late 1990s.
