Overview Lambretta Junior 100 & 125

The "cento" or "hundred" refers to its engine displacement of 98 to 100 cc, although the model was officially known as the J98 and a variant with a larger 125 cc engine was known as the J125. These models were characterised by a steel monocoque frame with two Side Parts and the absence of a horn casting.

The rear suspension, which was directly connected to the Engine - similar to larger Models - allowed swivelling mounting by means of front Holders. However, the Spring and damping units were designed as two separate components and the engine mounts did not provide a particularly smooth ride, as many machines tended to vibrate. The front suspension consisted of a trailing arm with Springs built into the front fork, sitting on Fitting Rubber Buffers, with 3.00*10 Tyres and Drum Brakes front and rear. Production of the J100 ended in November 1965 after 17,642 units, while production of the J125 continued until October 1966. Although the J series was not a resounding success overall, it nevertheless demonstrated Innocenti's willingness to diversify in order to increase customer satisfaction and boost the sales and profits of its product range.

The Engine of the Lambretta Junior 100 & 125

They were equipped with a two-cylinder engine in vertical design, similar in construction to the Li series, but combined with a 3-speed gearbox. The 98 cc model achieved an output of 4.7 hp and a maximum speed of 74 km/h, while the 125 cm variant with 5.8 hp achieved a speed of 86 km/h, making it competitive with larger models.
