There were a total of five different versions of the IO HAWK Exit-Cross: Entry, Premium, Exclusive and the new MAXX series. All variants were equipped with a whole host of additional features compared to the previous 1.6 version, which was already one of the top four E-Scooters in Germany in 2019. One decisive factor was the battery capacity. While the Premium, Exclusive and MAXX scooters got a whopping 748.8 Wh and a range of up to 52 km from the 48 V Battery, the Entry version only had a smaller version with 499.2 Wh and 30 km. There were also important differences in the brakes: Compared to the mechanical Disc Brakes on the Entry, the Premium variant had one and the Exclusive and MAXX (+ LIGHT) Model even had two hydraulic Disc Brakes. The Exclusive and MAXX variants in particular were lined up with countless additional electronic features such as GPS, Alarm System and immobiliser. IO HAWK didn't skimp on the lighting on the Exit-Cross either. All models had bright LED lighting at the front and rear. There was also a Brake Light for greater safety on the road. The Indicators in the Handlebars finally solved the problem of one-handed turning in traffic.
The Exit-Cross 2.0 MAXX may have weighed 22 kg, but it also offered plenty of power. The 500 watt rear wheel motor provided plenty of propulsion and even mastered inclines of up to 20 degrees. The Footboards were almost twice as wide as a conventional E-Scooter and provided maximum grip. In addition, the front fork suspension at the front and the Shock Absorbers at the rear absorbed quite a bit. In combination with the 10-inch cross Tyres, this created a real off-road feeling and the best grip even on wet roads. Speaking of weather: thanks to the IP54 certification and the robust design, it was possible to ride in rainy weather or even snow. Two fully hydraulic Disc Brakes ensured proper deceleration.
With MAXX and MAXX LIGHT, the large 2.8-inch LCD colour display provided information on all important data during the ride, such as speed, range, battery status, average speed and much more. The comprehensive smartphone App connects to the scooter via Bluetooth, allowing a lot of exciting riding data to be transmitted directly. To ensure that the phone did not run out of power during the ride, a USB slot was installed to supply it with power while travelling. Thanks to the new BMS battery management system, the 15.6 Ah battery installed in the scooter enabled a range of a whopping 52 kilometres.
