The German scooter manufacturer GO!MATE has electrified its stæp scooter. The incomparable street surfer feel has been retained in the stæp ER1/ER2 PLUS, as have all the stæp design features. The scooter is characterised by its extremely low weight, excellent off-road capability thanks to outstanding suspension and a minimal folding size that allows it to be transported anywhere. All these features were realised and awarded the reddot Design Award 2018 as Best of the Best. In addition, the stæp ER1 PLUS has been approved for use on German roads in accordance with ABE P038 under Section 20 of the German Road Traffic Licensing Regulations (StVZO).
The GO!MATE staep E-Scooter, which weighed only 13 kg, could also be significantly reduced in pack size thanks to its folding mechanism. While the Handlebar of the ER1 could be folded, the front section of the ER2 could also be folded. This gave the ER1 a folded size of 120 cm x 60 cm x 25 cm and the ER2 even 100 cm x 55 cm x 30 cm. This made them ideal companions for surfing through urban areas. The Streetsurfer ER1/ER2 from GO!MATE had Footboards made of multi-layered glued wood, which created a spring effect similar to that of a skateboard, without the need for heavy wear parts such as Shock Absorbers. In combination with the large pneumatic tyres, this created the irresistible feeling of gliding over the road. The hydraulic TEKTRO Disc Brake with 140 mm Washers ensured rapid deceleration. GO!MATE had also come up with something special for the frame geometry: A classic V-fork at the rear with a 250W e-engine in the 12-inch rear wheel was combined with a single-sided Fork and a 16-inch front wheel at the front. This high-tech component was not only manufactured individually by hand in Germany, but also offered unique riding pleasure.
